IS HOUSE
This residence is designed for a five-member family. The site, located in Palaiopanagia, a suburban area of Nafapaktos (Greece), has an plot area of 1.000 sq.m., and a pentagonal shape. Its wide side is orientated to the north view. The direct relationship between the interior and exterior space was requested from the client, as well as the building to be placed on the end of the site, leaving free space for a future addition. The design of the house is a combination of ve dynamic, linear, crooked zones that are consisted of void and full volumes. Those zones are moving in parallel, sliding with each other and creating a dynamic relationship. The building is unfolding the west – east axis, with the main orientation on the south and the exterior space. In the ground oor, the house is bending towards the site, enforcing the relationship with the exterior, where- as on the rst level, the zone that embraces the build- ing is creating a strong boundary. In order to achieve a clear de nition the relationship of public and private spaces, the entrance is placed on the north part and the boundary of the building is more closed and clear. On this side, the secondary functions of the house are placed. Towards the south side, the building opens to the exterior accommodating the living room and din- ing room on the ground level and the bedrooms on the first level.

This project revolves around the design of a four-level standalone residence situated in Patras' Kato Sihaina neighborhood. The primary objective of this endeavor was to bring to life the client's vision: the creation of a contemporary and adaptable structure that would not only meet their present needs but also anticipate future requirements.
Consequently, the design has given rise to a spatial environment that effectively secludes the occupants from the neighborhood's public ambiance, instead directing their focus towards the distinctiveness of the surrounding landscape and the serenity it offers. To achieve this, extensive windows have been strategically positioned, affording seamless access to the outdoor spaces. An exquisitely landscaped garden will envelop the building, thoughtfully incorporating local flora to provide a haven for relaxation.
One distinctive feature of this building is the incorporation of natural stone on the ground floor's exterior, bestowing upon it a natural and exceptionally aesthetic character. Furthermore, to harness the benefits of natural light, vertical metal beams have been seamlessly integrated into the architecture. These beams serve the dual purpose of filtering sunlight and diffusing it into the enclosed areas they traverse, especially in the northwest sections of the residence, where they serve as protective measures against the intense western sun exposure in the living spaces.
The residence's layout spans four levels, with storage facilities located in the basement. The ground floor plays a pivotal role as a transitional zone leading to a guest room and the central living area. Here, vertical connectivity between levels is facilitated by an elevator and a staircase. The sleeping quarters find their place on the second level, capitalizing on the privacy afforded by this level. Finally, the uppermost level has been thoughtfully designed for recreational spaces, adopting an open-plan configuration that maximizes the scenic views right before it.
